Not Your Traditional Salon

August 7, 2018

Let's face it, retirement can come with many perks. vacation, more family time, and in general just more time to yourself. Unfortunately, as we age , it can get hard to keep up with certain  errands and slowly but surely errands become too difficult to manage alone. Elizabeth Souffrant, who has been a beauty expert for many years says, “ I've seen it happen many times in the salon where my Senior clientele stopped showing up to the salon for their maintenance haircut and shampoo all because such errands were becoming too  mundane to keep up with.” It is true, as we age certain errands take a back seat, not because they are less important, but because they become less convenient.

With so much decrease of the senior clientele in the salon, Elizabeth felt there was a need to be addressed here. “ I knew I had to find a way to  bring the salon to them.” Originated in Lynn Massachusetts, I Care 4 Your Hair is a mobile salon dedicated to serving seniors and people with disabilities. Souffrant says,” No one should neglect  to maintain the healthiness of their hair and scalp.” Not only can you get your haircut and shampoo at the comfort of your own home, but you can also keep up with other things like color, perm, relaxer and waxing. I Care 4 Your Hair  mobile salon makes it possible for seniors to keep up with the healthiness of their hair and scalp and maintain a beautiful and rejuvenated look.

“This is definitely not your traditional salon, it's more than that!” says Souffrant. Although, I Care 4 Your Hair mobile salon performs many salon services, there has also been many adjustments to how the services are performed. “Being the fact that we deal  with disabilities such as dementia, vertigo, etc, we understand how important it is to build a relationship with our clientele. We want to make each visit as comfortable as possible so that our clients can look their best at any age. “
